The Planning Process
Inceasingly, where there is a requirement for a sustainable development assessment within a planning authority, a Code or BREEAM 'Pre-Assessment' will be required even if the application is Outline. This may well form part of a sustainability statement within the Design and Access Statement.
Coles Knapp have developed a 'planner friendly' format that goes beyond the simple 'pre-assessment' outputs of the Code and BREEAM software and allows the Local Authority to see that, even though the site and design layouts are at an early stage, the sustainability targets have been fully considered and are a focus of the design process.
